For those of you who stumbled upon my website, this blog is dedicated to sharing my year long adventures as a YFU foreign exchange student in Ovalle, Chile. 

For a little background: my name is Claire, I'm 17, and I'm from West Des Moines, Iowa. 

I LEAVE FOR SANTIAGO, CHILE TOMORROW! 

I'm so excited, but I still feel like I don't quite grasp what I'm doing just yet. I feel like it's going to take a few weeks in Chile before I finally comprehend that: I'm going to a foreign country, I basically don't know anyone, I have only four years of high school Spanish, and I'm going to be there for an entire year. 

But LO QUE SEA (whatever) it's going to be an experience of a lifetime!

I'm going to try and write in this blog once a week…but if that doesn't work out then at least once a month.
